The Lord Provides Leaders

August 27, 2010 - After many months of prayer and preparation, Covenant Community Church rejoiced to witness the Lord's provision of five new officers to serve the congregation. On August 27, 2010 a special service for the ordination and installation of these new officers was held at the church. Mr. Louis Cloete was ordained and installed as a ruling elder. Mr. Jim Stevenson (having previously served as a ruling elder in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church) was installed as a ruling elder. Mr. Matthew Curto, Mr. Joey Pipa, and Mr. Rick Montoney were ordained and installed as deacons. We give thanks to the Lord for His generous provision for our congregation.

Table Rock Adventure

August 8, 2009 - The congregation of Covenant Community Church met for hiking, lunch and a refreshing swim at Table Rock State Park. This trip confronted us with God's majesty, wisdom and power displayed in His creation as we enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the Blue Ridge foothills. Two hiking groups set out; the first (ambitious) group climbed to the peak of Table Rock. The second enjoyed the more relaxing trip past the waterfalls, flora and fauna of the Carrick Creek Trail. We met for lunch alongside the lake, and many stayed afterward to enjoy a refreshing swim.

General Assembly

June 3, 2009 - Three of our elders (Dr. Tony Curto, Pastor Peter Van Doodewaard, and Mr. Lou Veiga) had the privilege of participating in this year's General Assembly of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Seventy-sixth General Assembly met at Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from Wednesday May 27, 2009 until Wednesday June 3, 2009. A New Pastor

June 6, 2008 - On Saturday afternoon the congregation of Covenant Community Church, representatives from the Presbytery of the Southeast of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, and friends from Presbyterian and Reformed churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, and Canada joined for the joyful occasion of the ordination and installation of Mr. Peter Van Doodewaard as pastor of Covenant Community Church. Peter is a graduate of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary located here in Taylors. Before following the Lord's call to the Christian ministry, he and his family lived in Ontario, Canada where he practiced engineering for a company that provided drinking water treatment systems.
